Played the Hannibal room with my friend (we were two people) it was perfect for our level. It was so much fun. The staff is supper helpful and friendly. We stumblen into this place by accident but found it to be an absolut must do in funchal!!!

Cryptic Room is Madeira’s first dedicated escape room company, running three themed live rooms in Funchal — Prison, Nuthouse, and Hannibal — each built with real set design, original puzzles, and a story that holds up under pressure rather than a room full of padlocks.

Every room is built for 2-6 players and runs about an hour, with medium to hard difficulty depending on which one you pick. Check our FAQ page for arrival times, age limits, and booking details before your visit.
Prison is medium difficulty and a good starting point for first-timers and families. Nuthouse leans further into atmosphere and tension for groups who want more of an edge. Hannibal is our hardest and most intense room, built for players who’ve escaped elsewhere and want a genuine challenge.
